Arbor Ridge Apartments - Whittier, California

It’s been about 2 years since we’ve moved from Arbor Ridge. And one of the primary reasons we left the complex was because of “ management “. Here are a few of the issues that occurred during our stay there .

Our AC had broke in the summer . I was pregnant at the time . For starters Mr. Lawerence had the audacity to ask us what we did to break it . Joke or not, I didn’t find it funny, that entire unit was ran down. Paint hiding mold on top of the ceiling in the restroom , plumbing issues, I could go on . For almost a month the AC did not work. No discount on the rent nothing. After a month without AC and being pregnant and then finally fixing it, the man gives us a $20 gift card for the movies . Ridiculous.

If there was an issue, he unprofessionally handled it. My issue with him was the way he spoke. On multiple occasions he was disrespectful and tried to belittle me , in one instance because of how I parked my car.

Another incident occurred when he tried to tell me that we were smoking weed in our apartment complex . We don’t smoke weed AT ALL . Gave us a warning for something we didn’t do, said “ he saw smoke Coming from our apartment”. A lie .

I had one day brought up how some of the cabinet fixtures were broken and he had the audacity to tell me “ that’s what your man is for”.

When we first moved in with my dog , he tried to tell me I didn’t need an emotional Support animal . In which I do. I’m assuming he was under the impression we just weren’t trying to pay the extra pet fee when in reality that wasn’t the issue .

I personally didn’t want anything else to do with him as he didn’t know how to speak to people, and many times he felt comfortable enough to send text messages . Unprofessional.

Hot water would be off for a couple of days at a time, or the water would be shut off with only a day or twos notice before hand . Always temporary fixes but never actually fixing the issues . I hope by now that complex has all new water heaters.

Begged us to leave a review moments we moved in, don’t do it . Give it 6 months. I honestly don’t recommend moving into this complex, and If you do, do not move in Next to the “office building” . I’m not sure if it’s because we were a younger couple or if he stereotyped us into some type of sub category where he felt us less than, which on his behalf made him feel like he could talk and or address situations in any time of way, but to this day I do not and did not appreciate it.

I was so impressed with everything about Arbor Ridge, most importantly the Manger, Lawrence. He is knowledgeable, helpful and committed to highest quality standards. The grounds are impeccably maintained and the buildings are well constructed and clean.

I’ve lived in Arbor Ridge for about three years now and I have found it a great place to live. Mr Lawerence, the property manager, responds quickly and is happy to help. The apartments are comfortable and the appliances work great.

I have been living in Arbor Ridge Apartments for over a year now. I believe I made the right choice to come to live here and so is my family. The apartment is well preserved, and the complex is well kept well maintained by Lawerence, the administrator, and his team. It is also very conveniently located within walking distance to bus stops and uptown Whittier which hosts a variety of restaurants, bars, and entertainment.

We moved in 1 month ago and we are very happy, we love it here. Apt. Is quiet and clean. Lawrence the manager is very friendly, he creates a welcoming and positive environment which makes it a pleasure to live in the property.

I moved in about 5 months ago and have nothing but great things to say about living here. I initially checked this place out because it had great reviews, and they were all true! I love my place! My apartment was completely new and clean when I moved in. Wood floors, marble counters, new appliances, new paint. AND I LOVE having my own washer and dryer. The on site property manager Lawerance has been great to work with. Great communication, professional, knowledgeable, helpful, responsive, and reliable. He runs a tight ship and holds people accountable which I really appreciate because it keeps the environment and community peaceful and pleasant to live in. He made the move in process incredibly easy and has made my experience living here wonderful. Lawerance and his maintenance crew do a great job up keeping the property grounds. Very professional and very mindful of safety during the pandemic. The property is quiet, clean and feels safe. Everyone that I've encountered has been friendly and considerate. I have also been very lucky with amazing neighbors, so that was a bonus. The only thing I would improve on or add to the property is a fenced-off turf play area for all the pups that live here and all seem to get along great on the property;) and it would surely build on the close and safe community model, but I am still giving them 5 stars because Lawerance does a great job making friends with and loving on the pups on his own. I lived in the apartment for about 3 years. When I first moved in the manager neglected to tell me that all 3 of my neighbors would be college students. From day one there were party's. The drinking, the smoking weed, and the loudness was just horrible. Complain after complain after complain to the manager and still nothing was done, I guess her contract with Whittier College was worth more than my SANITY. After 3 years of this nonsense I had to move out. The only good thing about these apartments was the maintenance man Mark he was awesome. There was mold growing inside the bathroom and it didn't matter how much I cleaned it always kept coming back, it was over the window sills everything. I do not recommend these apartments at all. The apartment advertised a fitness room but it consists of a treadmill, bike, and an old stepper.

I'm enjoying these apartments very much! The grounds are very clean and well-kept. Since the buildings are on a cul de sac, it is a quiet and little road traffic. I love the modern and upgraded features in my unit. Any issues or service requests are responded to quickly. The staff and manager are very friendly. Overall, I love being here! Highly recommend it!
