Corrupt. You will not believe me, but you should stay away. If you are homeless, you will not have a choice. Keep any money in the bank and move ASAP. They will lie, cheat, and steal anything they can get from even poor residents. They will take any money they can threaten out of you, and keep at it if you are afraid to be without a home. Do not buy furniture , a tv, or anything of value. Do not let them see you would be afraid or that you have even $20. It is hard to believe there are even such awful people here, and they let them take advantage of people here.

This is my first experience living in affordable housing. It's frustrating having a small apartment with low-end building materials/appliances. However, I'm GRATEFUL EVERY DAY & INCREDIBLY RELIEVED that I'm here after being on the waiting list for a year & a half. Although not perfect, I'm very surprised Arbor Village is nicer than the stereotypical "ghetto project" I expected.
The office, mailbox, laundry, meeting room & recycle/trash room are all conveniently close to my apartment. CASL agency office is located right across the complex in the same parking lot. They offer case management & other resources (unfortunately, not all will do their jobs
even if it's a matter of life or death - they simply don't care about the people since money is their first priority. I used to worked at a nonprofit agency that manipulated & lied in their fund raising. Yet they mistreated some of the disabled clients, making fun of them, at times refusing to accept them for services, saying very demeaning things about them & violated a lot of HIPPA & Privacy policies).
My apartment is small & although I do pay a percentage of rent, I've been disappointed that previous manager & staff failed to fix/replace problems because they treated me like I didn't count.
On a positive note, once the new Property Manager (Ashley) & maintenance staff replaced previous staff, I've been VERY PLEASED with the overall improvement of the atmosphere here at Arbor Village. The halls are finally more clean. My complaints about the ongoing bug problems were finally taken seriously by Ashley, sending Pest Control to apply more appropriate treatments (this took place AFTER I ended up in the hospital due to weakness from not eating because I'd find bugs on the stove & couldn't cook. I got so weak I couldn't open water bottles. I spent about 4 days in the hospital because the previous property manager wouldn't listen to or take any of my concerns seriously). I don't have to put up with the previous maintenance man's rude, ignorant & innappropriate behavior either.
I also stay away from nearly all the neighbors. I've been here for 2 years. As a newcomer, they didn't acknowledge me. One well known neighbor even made fun of some of my disabilities & also hugged & kissed me out of the blue. I'm not here for the drama or a superficial social life. With my declining health, I'm here to recover from multiple traumas & hopefully physically heal from multiple health issues, being able to secure my independence.

If u value your safety or animals safety do not move here believe what u read this was the worst decision I ever made in my life to move here roaches fights its the new projects even Janie gardens is better good luck with any help and the rudeness after you sign the lease here is beyond belief

Management is fabulous! On grounds one man non-stop fix it man. The neighbors are great, always openly helping each other out. Neighborhood is grand
