Super friendly staff and character of the restaurant was neat. Fried mushrooms were absolutely amazing. The mushroom burger was on soft sour dough bread and homemade hamburger patties.

Everything you love about old school diners is definitely still alive and well at The Boomerang! The food was fresh and hot. The staff were super friendly and patient. This is definitely one of those places to sit and have a good meal with friends and not worry about breaking the bank. They had several regulars that came in while I was there. The staff greeted them by name, knew their order, and talked to them like family. I could definitely see my wife and I coming back here on a regular basis.

Absolutely Disgusting Food and Even Worse Service
I recently visited the Boomerang Diner on Broadway in Shawnee, OK, and it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I ordered a simple to-go meal of a ham and cheese omelet, hash browns, toast, and coffee. The total came to $17.02, and I added a $3.40 tip.
I was halfway through my meal when I discovered that half of the omelet was completely raw! As someone who was just recovering from a stomach bug, this immediately made me queasy, and I ended up throwing up. I returned to the diner with the contaminated food and was greeted by a server who offered to make me a new omelet. I explained that I was concerned about food contamination and simply wanted a refund.
The server showed the raw omelet to the manager, and I could hear the manager acknowledging that it was indeed undercooked. However, when the server returned, he insisted that they would only make me a new one. I objected and demanded a refund, but the manager refused because I had already eaten half of the meal.
I was shocked and appalled by this response. I reiterated my concerns about food poisoning and even asked other customers if they had experienced similar issues with their food. The manager then threatened to call the police on me for "stating facts and asking questions"!
I left the diner feeling disgusted and disrespected. I was wearing torn and tattered shoes and work clothes as I was on a construction job, and as a Native American, I couldn't help but feel that my appearance and race played a significant role in the way I was treated. The manager's refusal to issue a refund for a clearly contaminated meal was unacceptable, and his threat to call the police was completely uncalled for.
I would strongly advise anyone considering eating at this establishment to think twice. The food is poorly prepared, the service is terrible, and the management is downright hostile and potentially discriminatory. I will be disputing the charge with my bank and will never return to this diner again.

They used to be the best but, like every place, the prices go up and the food quality goes down. Pictured is one of the pieces of fish. I couldn't eat most of the pieces because it was mostly junk pieces. No meat at all. I won't have catfish again here. Sorry Boomerang, but it's the truth.

I love the Old Hollywood atmosphere! All the photos on the wall and the music were great. I think it brings in the older age group people, and they have the best stories.
It would've been helpful to know the prices of menu items, but I do like that the menu is in the table top.
The wait staff was very helpful and always available.
And, good luck solving the puzzle on the wall!

I ordered 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 apple pies and 2 drinks for us as take-out. The staff was helpful and helped me get the food and drinks without spilling everything. The food was ready within 10 min of calling it in. The food was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. I highly recommend checking out their fried pies. Definitely tastes homemade and it has a lot of filling in them. Great food!

Me and my hubby like to come get breakfast or lunch from here on the weekends. They are always busy but we are happy to wait for a table. I’m glad they moved to this location as it used to be an old cafe before that my family went to as a kid, so I enjoy the nostalgia with the Boomerang feel. The servers are always nice and kind, and we have had no complaints since they moved to this new location.

Everyone here is so nice. Our waitress Tee was just the sweetest. We didn't have to ask for anything. She was the BEST. I had the KV Burger it was delicious. My husband had the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast with Sausage gravy. It was very good.
